Description: This fine Bowie meets the standards for a battle ready Bowie knife. 6 7/8” Spear Point Blade tapered in stag handle with no cracks or chips, which is mounted with 4 nickel silver pins, excusion plate and double guard. Blade appears to have original finish with pitina from the past 200 years. Knife is balanced at the ricasso. Maker’s three line stamp reads “ROGERS, CUTLERS TO HER MAJESTY with the royal warrant trademark, a star and Maltese cross. Age is likely between 1837-1890. Original paper sheath appears to be covered with leather hand sewn (probably by owner out in the wild or battle field) I almost forgot, the double guard is loose.
