Description: Lot of 2 Ansel Adams Photography Books: ANSEL ADAMS, Edited by Liliane De Cock (1981 4th HB ptg., 117 pix)Yosemite and the Range of Light (1983 3rd TPB) ANSEL ADAMS (117 Duotone Illustrations), Edited by Liliane De Cock, Foreword by Minor White, 1981 4th printing, New York Graphic Society (Boston). 10.76 x 9.3-inch linen-clad HB with embossed silver lettering at front and spine; around 130 total pp., the 117 B&W plates are numbered, the Foreword and Ms. De Cock's List of photo credits, Chronology of Adams' life, and Selected Bibliography at the back are all unnumbered; paper stock is thick, white and glossy; near-excellent condition (book is clean and tightly bound with straight corners, covers and pages are bright; DJ is fine with a discreetly price-clipped upper front flap corner). This is an unusual Ansel Adams book because it has so little, and offers a wider range of photos, divided just about evenly between Adams justly famous landscapes and more humanstic photos - many portraits and some still-life images. It's in great shape because the original owner fitted it with a sturdy mylar cover and treated it properly over the decades. Adams was the most most celebrated American photographer of the 20th century, and his classic work holds up well today, even if it's very different from more stylized photographers who succeeded him.
