This gorgeous later portrait of Larry, probably from the late 1940’s or 1950’s stands as a beautiful piece on its own. To do it one better, this one is signed to Donald from your pal Larry to which he even added 3 Stooges in parenthesis. This might be one of the only Larry Fine solo portraits ever signed by the comedy genius himself. The salutation and signature are done in light pencil but are still easily readable. If you are familiar with Stooges autographs almost every stooge would sign only his first name when they would autograph anything. People knew them as Moe, Larry, Curly and Shemp so why would any of them add a last name? (except for Joe Besser and Joe DiRita in later years) This photo and autograph are new to the hobby and have impeccable provenance, but anyone can tell just by looking at it that it is jaw dropping amazing and the real deal.
