These pogs feature the iconic Lahainaluna school, which is the oldest school west of the Rockies. The school was established in 1831 and class began in upper Lahaina in thatched huts with 25 Hawaiian young men. One of the young men in that first class was David Malo, who became a prominent man in the kingdom and the first Superintendent of Schools.
