Description: Make sure to BOOKMARK OUR EBAY STORE and check out OUR NEWLY LISTED ITEMS This is an important and historic piece of Original Art by Dave Stevens, who is considered by many to be one of the finest comic artists in the history of the medium. From 1972, this predates Stevens' 1982 introduction of The Rocketeer by a decade. This is Pg. 4 from the story "Teran!" in Nuff Said #2. While we are not certain, we believe this may actually be the very first published artwork by this legendary artist. Even in his earlier period, you can already see the influence on Stevens of such comic book and fantasy art giants as Burne Hogarth, Frank Frazetta, Jeff Jones, and Joe Kubert. And you can also see that by this point Steven's beautiful inked lines had the elegance and precision he would become known for as a master of the art form. The piece measures approximately 11" by 14", and is in very good condition. It has some use of whiteout around the horse's head in the first panel. Stevens shows great use of technique to get different shading, including some use of zipatone. This is a truly rare opportunity to acquire an important piece, by someone who was not only one of the great creators of GGA, but also one of the greatest overall comic artists. This is an outstanding piece, which would look fantastic framed and prominently displayed, and would be a definite showpiece in any Stevens collection.
