1969 Fender Competition Red Mustang Guitar All Original With Case Vintage Excel.

Description: 1969 Fender Competition Mustang Guitar in Fender Competition Red with Original Case and the original Fender Mustang Bridge, Bridge Cover, and Vibrato. This All Original Vintage early 1969 Fender Competition Mustang Guitar in Fender Competition Red is in Excellent to Mint collector condition, with no signs of play wear and in perfect working order, with all original finish. Comes with its original Fender case, Vibrato Bar, and Bridge Cover. This is the sister of the 1969 Fender Blue Competition I sold last month that was part of a set. Guitar appears as never played, and didn't leave the climate controlled environment it was stored in for over 50 years, until sale. Which is probably why the original finish looks un-aged and close to Mint. It has no fading or yellowing, just the Best Fender Competition Red finish I've seen. Cosmetically it only has a few minor handling dings or scratches, mostly from case storage/movement, as shown in the photos. This Mustang has the great vintage Mustang Fender sound, with its very early 1969 gray bobbin pickups date stamped (18 9). The Neck Pickup has a reading of 5.73k ohm, and the Bridge Pickup has a reading of 5.75k ohm. The Stackpole Control Pots are dated 304-6631, all the original switches and pots function cleanly and smoothly. The guitar weighs 7 lb. This is an very early rare 22.5" scale "A" Dark Rosewood fret board maple neck, 1 1/2" at the nut. It has a Neck Date butt stamp of 9SEP66A with the Fender Competition Red matching headstock and its original early Fender 2 Line Kluson Tuners, and the Fender Mustang decal is perfect. The original nut is perfect except for a minor nick. The rosewood fretboard has pearloid dot inlays, with the un-worn frets and fretboard showing no signs of wear or use. The back of the neck has the complete original finish, showing no wear at all. The neck is straight and the truss rod adjustable. The Original Fender Competition Mustang bridge and vibrato comes with its original barrel saddles, bridge cover and the vibrato bar handle. The chrome plating on all the hardware of the guitar is excellent, and all of the original plastics are clean and without any cracking or shrinking. The original Fender hardshell case which is also in excellent condition is included. The Red case lining is clean without any stains or stank.
