Description: I have too many projects at once, and I'm not an auto shop, so I've decided after nearly 10 years stored, this 1968 Mustang needs a new home. For Sale: one project, 1968 Ford Mustang "Sprint" with its original matching numbers engine block. I did pull the Marti Auto Works report (attached) and this vehicle is a California manufactured car, that was sold in Texas. ENGINE; MATCHING NUMBER, 289 CU. INCH NOW, 347 CU INCH .030 OVERBORE, BALANCED SHORT BLOCK, PROFESSIONALLY ASSEMBLED, WITH SAME OEM MATCHING NUMBER BLOCK New parts: Stroker crank, balanced with flywheel Pistons and Rods Cam bearings Main and rod bearings, and rings Block seals Aluminum heads complete with valves and springs Performance push rod guides and rocker studs Aluminum intake Aluminum valve covers Roller rockers Aluminum timing chain cover Performance harmonic damper Performance ignition system (hp ignition box, coil, and distributor) ARP head bolts (heads torqued with new standard head gaskets) Performance intake gasket set Not Included: an engine cam, timing chain, push rods or lifters or the original intake and heads or carburetor. OLD ENGINE PARTS INCLUDED: Engine oil pan Cam cover Exhaust OEM manifolds BODY INTERIOR Old dash included, the pad is deteriorated (but I salvaged the original VIN TAG, it’s somewhat legible); not sure if any dash gages work, but what you see is included. - I received a new door VIN TAG with the Marti report, it goes with the car. - What looks to be the original seats front and back are included, both need complete restoration. - I have some interior trim, it all goes with the car - No radio, speakers or other controls unless visible in pictures - The door handles are missing and the window mechanicals need work, but most parts are there. BODY EXTERIOR - The body does have rust in isolated or in confined areas, but it’s not throughout; looks like a leaking engine oil or transmission pan did the best preservation; please look carefully at all the pictures, nothings concealed. - The driver door drip edge, near the roof line and towards the rear side window, needs replacing; two new ones come with the sale. - Both front floor pans need replacing, but the frame rails are solid both sides - The rear floor pans, and mid-section floors are solid, though a couple pinholes are on the rear driver side, it could be saved. - The interior roof looks good with the exception of the needed drip edge repair I mentioned earlier. - Both the exterior lower back widow areas (corners) need attention, but it doesn’t seem too much farther, looking in, or from the inside. - A couple areas on each side of the exterior roof need attention, but its not soft, any place other that what you see in the pics - The driver side inner fender seems to have been repaired (the apron had a wrinkle) and the left lower strut arm had been replaced. I took measurements to ensure the front cage is still straight, crossing from side to side on both fenders, and crossing the motor mounts and straight ahead to the radiator cage, and the numbers are approximately the same on either side. It had been driven daily till 2006, to the best of my knowledge as-is; it still looks straight. - Purchased new, are both rear engine bay inner fender aprons; the front bumper aprons and lower front valance, all as pictured. *The OEM hood and trunk were removed in poor condition, and do not come with the car. BUMPERS -Two new chrome front and rear bumpers with new bolt and frame hardware. -The old rear bumper comes with the car. TWO TRANSMISSIONS -The car came with an automatic transmission, which may not be the original, but was a functioning unit, to the best of my knowledge. -The original rear end, that came with the car is pictured as removed, no modifications or repairs, and does come with the car. -Additionally, I acquired a later model 5 speed ford manual unit, said to have been restored, works fine, and also goes with the car as a second choice. -I have the factory driveshaft and it goes with the car. SUSPENSION - I purchased new, a HELIX complete 4 link coil-over rear suspension kit; everything that you see comes with the kit to include welded brackets, struts, springs and shocks and coils. -The original rear suspension leaf springs as pictured, comes with the car. -The rest of the original front suspension does need replacing or refurbishing in my opinion. WHEELS -The car does come with a new set of four, 17X8 wheels as pictured. TOOLS -As pictured, the car is being sold with a new 3,000-pound capacity, fully adjustable, hydraulic body rotisserie. OTHER PARTS -Everything I removed from the car, goes with the car, some parts not pictured. Please feel free to ask questions, I just don’t have the time for multiple projects and I hope someone can enjoy this one. I will try to link more pics via Dropbox. The car is being sold AS-IS, with no guarantees or warranties; I do have a clear title in hand. If you plan to trailer it home on the rotisserie, you’ll need at least an 18-foot-long x 6-foot trailer; the original rear end can be reinstalled, and wheels placed back on “bring two” if you want to take it off the rotisserie for shipping. Shipping is at (your cost) and pickup is your responsibility, but I will assist with arrangements or loading as needed. $250.00 non-refundable deposit due at close of auction.DROP BOX TO MORE PICS:https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fo/uiks3syd6x9h43k430hqc/AFgRbVC7BaE6HVKWLbSaMuQ?rlkey=fvsdez75u1gjw0snm539au0q4&st=5bi3rb07&dl=0 I reserve the right to close the auction early.
