Description: This is a player grade LG-2 that has obviously been played a bunch, but it's easily one of the best sounding LG-2's I've played over the years. The FON dates this to 1951, though the headstock is tapered which I believe stopped somewhere in 1950, so could technically be a 1950.Main callout on this guitar is that there are some side cracks that have been well repaired, and parts of the sides were refinished when the repair work was done. The repairs are all very solid, and as mentioned were well done, but the refinishing over them certainly downgrades this to player grade. The finish on the top and back is all original however. There is a repaired crack on the top, the standard B string crack. The tuners and bridge are both original, though the tuner buttons are replacements. The guitar has had a neck reset, with action at the 12th fret measuring 3/32" on the low E and 2/32" on the high E, and a good amount of saddle left for future adjustments. The frets in the cowboy chord area will probably need to be dressed at some point, I don't have issues with buzzing/playability currently but there are some decent sized divots on the treble strings in the first few frets.Nut width is 1 11/16", string spacing at the bridge is 2 1/8", scale length is standard 24 3/4".Comes with what seems to be the original alligator case so the guitar will be well packed.
