Description: This RCA Victor radio model 8×53 was produced in 1948. Known as the log cabin radio because of its shape it is a broadcast receiver with a wooden case and approximately measures 11 1/2 by 7 1/2 x 7 1/2“. The radio has five tubes and operates on an AM wave band. Look at the pictures carefully for its overall condition and appearance. I took pictures in natural light and also with the flash on and off. This 75 year old radio works very well for his age, I could get four different AM stations on it. As you can see from the pictures the varnish is coming off the wood case. It would not take much to clean this up and get it back to its original glory. The things that I could see that need attention are the bulb that lights up the front flickers off and on and as you can see from the pictures a wooden block in the back is missing on the one side for mounting the back cover, which I do not have. I will carefully pack this up and double box it for shipping and place bubble wrap on the inside to help protect the tubes.
