Description: Navajo Yei Sandpainting with red background. This weaving has a gorgeous design including a cornstalk, bird and dragonfly. This one is unique because the natural sandpainting color of brown has been replaced with this vibrant red. You can see by looking at the bottom of this Navajo weaving that there is a slight contrast in the color of red that used to be partial letters or symbols, probably added to the weaving during construction that do not appear to have been legible when the weaving was made and are still not legible today.
