Description: We received this from our late 100 year old uncle’s estate. This Burlington Special was HIS father’s watch, circa 1898-1900. They were from New Orleans. It does show some light wear, with rubbing and a couple of small dings. The monogram engraving is pretty faded on the front cover. But, considering it’s 120 years old, it’s in wonderful cosmetic condition, in my opinion! The movements sound so smooth. The face front & back glass are both missing This watch runs like a sewing machine…VERY NICE movement 2 plates of solid gold over composition GORGEOUS 3 mm Diamond (front cover) Burlington Special Illinois Watch Co. Circa 1904 Serial #1737968 Grade 69 17 Jewels Model 6 Size 18s Run Quantity 1300 -Serial Number (on inside of front) -Makers mark, serial number, gold guarantee (inside of back cover) This would make an excellent piece for any collector!
