Description: THIS IS ONE OF IS ANOTHER ONE OF THE NICEST VINTAGE KNIVES OF THIS BIG PATTERN I HAVE EVER OWNED, IT IS A VERY RARE VINTAGE 1930's-1940's era CATTERAGUS BIG FAT SUNFISH OR ELEPHANT TOENAIL PATTERN, DEPENDING ON WHAT BOOK YOU GOT OR WHICH TABLE YOUR AT. THE KNIFE MEASURES 4" IN THE CLOSED POSITION. BOTH BLADES 99.9% FULL AND RAZOR SHARP, IT DOES HAVE SOME PITTING, SCRATCHES (SEE PICTURES). BOTH THE BLADES ARE ALSO RAZOR SHARP AND SIT IN THE RIGHT POSITION OPEN AND CLOSED WITH GOOD SNAP. THE MAIN BLADE HAS A 1-1/2" SWEDGE OR FALSE EDGE ON THE TOP SPINE. THE MAIN BLADE TANG IS STAMPED CATTERAUGUS CUTLERY CO. N.Y. THE HANDLE SCALES ARE BEAUTIFUL WORM GROOVED AND MATCHING JIGGED BONE AND NO CRACKS, CHIPS OR ANY IMPERFECTIONS, TIGHT AND RIGHT. BOTH HANDLE SCALES ARE TIGHT TO THE BRASS LINERS WITH STEEL PINS WITH A VERY CLEAN BACKSPRING. IT ALSO HAS BEAUTIFUL SHINY NICKEL SILVER FRONT AND REAR BOLSTERS WITH NO SCRATCHES.
