Description: Up for sale are 12+ original Bresse chicken hatching eggs, sourced directly from our farm. Our one year old hens lay large creamy brown to white colored eggs. Younger hens lay smaller eggs which results in smaller chicks. THAT'S WHY WE ONLY BREED WITH OUR YEAR OLD HENS. Bress Chickens are a recent import from France and are known to be world class table fare when properly finished. What is much less well known about Bresse Chickens is that they are excellent foragers and good egg layers. A true dual purpose Heritage Breed. Bresse can be identified by their blue feet, white feathers and meaty bodies. These eggs are from several excellent bloodlines and are perfect for anyone looking to start their own flock of Bresse chickens and help develop this breed in the USA. Our brood stock was selected for thick deep blue feet, proper combs and none of our breeders have visible color leakage. 50% of our roosters at this time have the desirable white earlobe. You should expect a few birds with some color leakage (partially to completely colored feathers). This is attributable to the type of white feathers that Bress Have. Bresse have Dominant White feathers. Dominant White is epistatic, so it's always covering up something else. In Bresse, more often than not, this will be Black. Color leakage is when the underlying color is not completely hidden by the Dominant White gene. Each egg is carefully inspected and packaged to ensure safe delivery.
